You need to educate yourself about mental health.Actually more crimes are commited by so called “normal” people.I’m not crazy,i have an Anxiety disorder and a Bsc in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering and can run a 5 minute mile and many other things.
What can you do?

@b0ondockz if you are in the states then I believe you do need a masters degree, but here in the UK you do not. A masters comes later if you wish. Average pay for a band 5 in this country is not a lot of money at all, I think it starts around 21 thousand pounds….but of course we dont do the job for the money really!

elo friends, i’,m a second year ot. I must say that i’ve seen GOOD ots doing wonderful things where they enable people considered as “lost cases” to get back to LIFE and even saving a person from undergoing surgery. Its just that u have to be good.

and doesn’t even begin to scrape the surface of your own problem.
You just get sent round in circles then.
Luckily after 4 years out-patient I dragged myself away realising it’s been no help whatsoever.I didn’t want to spend my life being drugged up to the eyeballs and being told a load of bullcrap by people who claim to be experts on the subject

Do you agree that the fundamentals of mental health care need to be addressed
first in order to go from “trying to help” someone into ACTUALLY helping them.
For example here is where it all goes wrong
Your GP refers you to a Psych ,after 15 minutes you come out with half a dozen labels and a couple packs of mind altering drugs without actually getting to the cause of the problem.
Then you get sent to an OT or Psychologist on some VERY general course
